Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 cup chopped almonds, plus more for topping


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Beat until well combined.

4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chopped almonds.

6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle additional chopped almonds over the top.

7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes
