Ingredients
– 6 cups peeled and sliced Granny Smith apples
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 cup old-fashioned oats
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. – Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. – In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of the brown sugar and the cinnamon. Spread the apples into a 9-inch pie dish.
3. – In another bowl, combine the flour, oats, remaining 3/4 cup brown sugar, butter, nutmeg, and salt. Use your fingers to mix and crumble the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
4. – Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
5. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
6. – Allow the pie to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
