Description

This apple crisp without oats is a delightful and comforting dessert that’s easy to make and perfect for any occasion. The sweet, caramelized apple filling is topped with a buttery, crispy topping that’s irresistible.

Ingredients

– 6 cups peeled, sliced apples

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed

– 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

2. – In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.

3. – Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish.

4. – In a separate bowl, combine the flour and brown sugar. Cut in the cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

5. – Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apple filling.

6. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

7. – Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

For a crunchier topping, add 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts) to the crumb mixture. You can also substitute different types of apples or mix varieties for a more complex flavor.
