Description

Indulge in the irresistible flavors of homemade Apple Pie Bombs – flaky pastry shells filled with a sweet, cinnamon-spiced apple filling. These quick and easy treats are perfect for any occasion, from cozy autumn gatherings to indulgent desserts.

Ingredients

– 1 package refrigerated pie crust

– 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

– 1 egg, beaten

– 2 tablespoons coarse sugar

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. 2. Unroll the pie crust and use a 3-inch round cookie cutter to cut out circles.

3. 3. In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Mix well.

4. 4. Place a heaping tablespoon of the apple mixture in the center of each pie crust circle. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.

5. 5. Arrange the filled dough bombs on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar.

6. 6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a delicious twist, try adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce on top. These Apple Pie Bombs can also be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
