Ingredients

– 4 large yellow onions, sliced

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

– 1/2 cup grated asiago cheese

– 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs

– 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. – In a large baking dish, arrange the sliced onions in an even layer.

3. – Drizzle the melted butter over the onions and toss to coat.

4. – Sprinkle the grated asiago cheese, panko breadcrumbs, thyme leaves, salt, and pepper over the top.

5. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the onions are caramelized and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. – Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra crispy topping, broil the dish for 2-3 minutes after baking. You can also experiment with different cheese varieties like parmesan or gruyere. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
