Description
Indulge in the perfect balance of sweet and spicy with these homemade Candy Cane Fireball Hard Candies. The vibrant red and white striped candies are infused with the refreshing flavor of peppermint and the warm, cinnamon kick of Fireball whisky, creating a truly divine holiday treat.
Ingredients
– 2 cups white granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup light corn syrup
– 1/4 cup water
– 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
– 1/4 cup Fireball cinnamon whisky
– 2-3 drops red food coloring
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and carefully stir in the peppermint extract and Fireball whisky. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble and steam.
4. Quickly pour the hot candy mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it into a thin layer. Allow to cool completely, about 30 minutes.
5. Once cooled, break the hardened candy into pieces and toss with the red food coloring until evenly coated.
6. Store the Candy Cane Fireball Hard Candies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
For a more uniform appearance, you can pour the hot candy mixture into candy molds instead of spreading it on a baking sheet. Allow the candies to fully cool and harden before removing from the molds.
