Description

Indulge in the flavors of autumn with these easy, homemade Caramel Apple Slices. Tender, caramelized apple slices are coated in a rich, sweet caramel sauce and warm spices for a delightful treat that’s perfect for snacking or serving as a dessert.

Ingredients

– 3 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced 1/4-inch thick

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 1/2 cup light brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling

Instructions

1. – In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

2. – Add the apple slices and cook, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes.

3. – Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg over the apples and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes more.

4. – Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the 1/4 cup of caramel sauce until the apples are evenly coated.

5. – Serve the Caramel Apple Slices warm, with additional caramel sauce drizzled over the top.

Notes

– For a more decadent treat, serve the Caramel Apple Slices with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

– Leftover slices can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
