Description
Fragrant cardamom bread swirled with a luxurious honey orange butter – a delightful homemade treat perfect for breakfast, brunch, or anytime.
Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 tablespoon ground cardamom
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 3/4 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1/2 cup buttermilk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1 tablespoon orange zest
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cardamom.
3. In a large bowl, beat the 1/2 cup softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the buttermilk and vanilla.
4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. In a small bowl, mix together the 1/2 cup softened butter, honey, and orange zest until well combined.
8. Serve the cardamom bread with the honey orange butter on the side.

The cardamom bread can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days. The honey orange butter can be refrigerated for up to 1 week.
