Description

These Cauldron Cookies are a delightfully spooky and delicious Halloween treat! They feature a rich, fudgy interior with a molten chocolate center, dusted with powdery sugar for a magical, cauldron-like effect.

Ingredients

– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 1 egg

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. – In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

3. – Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined.

4. – In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

5. – Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

6. – Scoop dough by the tablespoon and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

7. – Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still slightly soft.

8. – Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an even more decadent treat, try adding a small spoonful of Nutella or caramel to the center of each cookie before baking. Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
