Ingredients
– 3 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 tablespoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
– 3 cloves garlic, roasted and minced
– 2 tablespoons fresh chopped herbs (such as parsley, basil, or rosemary)
– 1 cup warm milk
Instructions
1. – Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. – Add the softened butter and use a fork or your fingers to work it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. – Stir in the shredded cheese, roasted garlic, and fresh herbs.
5. – Pour in the warm milk and stir just until a shaggy dough forms.
6. – Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly, about 1 minute, until it comes together.
7. – Press the dough into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
8. – Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing and slicing.
