Description

Indulge in the ultimate Chicago-style deep dish pizza, baked to perfection in a cast iron skillet. This thick, buttery crust is filled with layers of gooey cheese and your favorite toppings, creating a truly irresistible and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon instant yeast

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup warm water

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

– 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

– 1 cup sliced pepperoni

– 1 cup sliced mushrooms

– 1 bell pepper, sliced

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Add the warm water and olive oil, and knead until a smooth dough forms.

2. Press the dough into a 10-inch cast iron skillet, pressing it up the sides to create a thick crust.

3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, then top with the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, and bell pepper.

4. Bake at 425°F for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

5. Let the pizza cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

For a chunkier sauce, use diced tomatoes instead of tomato sauce. You can also experiment with different toppings, like Italian sausage, onions, or olives.
