Description

Chicken Paprikash is a classic Hungarian dish featuring tender chicken in a rich, creamy paprika-infused sauce. This easy 30-minute recipe delivers all the flavor and comfort of traditional Chicken Paprikash with minimal effort.

Ingredients

– 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 tablespoons paprika

– 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)

– 1 cup chicken broth

– 1 cup sour cream

– 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, until browned on all sides.

2. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened.

3. Stir in the paprika and caraway seeds (if using) and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

4. Whisk together the chicken broth, sour cream, and flour. Pour the mixture into the skillet and bring to a simmer.

5. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce thicken for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. Serve the Chicken Paprikash over cooked egg noodles, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

– For a thicker sauce, you can mix an additional 1-2 tablespoons of flour with the sour cream before adding to the skillet.

– Try serving the Chicken Paprikash with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a well-rounded meal.

– Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
