Description

Tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory sauce make this classic Chinese Beef and Broccoli dish a weeknight favorite. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s a quick and easy meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients

– 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced

– 2 cups broccoli florets

– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tablespoon grated ginger

– 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

– 2 tablespoons brown sugar

– 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

– 1 teaspoon cornstarch

– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

1. – In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat.

2. – Add the beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Transfer the beef to a plate.

3. – Add the broccoli to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, until crisp-tender.

4. – In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes (if using).

5. – Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce over the top. Toss to coat and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.

6. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. – Serve the Chinese Beef and Broccoli immediately over steamed rice.

Notes

– For a thicker sauce, add an extra teaspoon of cornstarch.

– Customize the spice level by adjusting the amount of red pepper flakes.

– Try substituting chicken or pork for the beef.
