Description

This easy cornbread stuffing recipe is the perfect holiday side dish. Tender, savory, and packed with flavor, it’s a must-have for your Thanksgiving or Christmas feast.

Ingredients

– 8 cups crumbled cornbread

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter

– 1 large onion, diced

– 3 celery stalks, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme

– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

– 1 1/2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

Instructions

1. – Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. – In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and celery, and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until softened.

3. – Stir in the garlic, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

4. – In a large bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with the crumbled cornbread. Gradually add the broth, stirring gently to combine.

5. – Transfer the cornbread stuffing to a baking dish and spread it out evenly.

6. – Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

7. – Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use unsalted butter. You can also add chopped nuts, dried cranberries, or apples to the stuffing. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
