Ingredients
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1 onion, diced
– 3 garlic cloves, minced
– 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 2 cups uncooked orzo pasta
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Grated parmesan cheese, for serving
– Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and heavy cream. Stir to combine.
4. Add the uncooked orzo pasta, dried oregano, and dried basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender.
