Ingredients

– 6 cups peeled, sliced apples

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1 cup old-fashioned oats

– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

1. – Grease the insert of a 4-6 quart slow cooker.

2. – In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.

3. – Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared slow cooker.

4. – In a separate bowl, combine the oats, flour, granulated sugar, and cold butter. Use a fork or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

5. – Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples.

6. – Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

7. – Serve warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

For a crispier topping, you can broil the Crock Pot Apple Crisp for 2-3 minutes after cooking. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
