Description

Indulge in the ultimate Custard-Filled Sweet Bread, a mouthwatering treat with a luscious custard center and a divine, fluffy texture. This homemade bread is perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an anytime snack.

Ingredients

– 3 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast

– 1 cup warm milk

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 2 large eggs

– 1 cup custard filling (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

2. Add the warm milk, softened butter, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.

3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

5. Punch down the dough to release air bubbles. Roll or pat the dough into a rectangle, about 12×8 inches.

6. Spread the custard filling evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.

7. Tightly roll the dough into a log, starting from the long side. Pinch the seam to seal.

8. Place the log seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

9. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

10. Bake the Custard-Filled Sweet Bread for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.

11. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, brush the top of the baked bread with melted butter. Serve warm or at room temperature.
