Description

Discover the delicate, floral notes of Fireweed Syrup – a quick and easy homemade syrup that adds a touch of magic to your breakfast favorites or cocktails.

Ingredients

– 2 cups fresh fireweed blossoms

– 2 cups granulated sugar

– 2 cups water

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the fireweed blossoms, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has fully dissolved.

2. Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened slightly.

3. Remove from heat and strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.

4. Allow the syrup to cool completely, then transfer to a clean glass jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

– Use the syrup to sweeten and flavor pancakes, waffles, yogurt, or cocktails.

– The syrup can also be used as a sweetener in baked goods or drizzled over fresh fruit.

– For a thicker consistency, simmer the syrup for a few minutes longer.
