Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup cocoa powder
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 3 eggs
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 cup chopped dark chocolate
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then stir in the melted butter.
4. Gently fold the egg mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
5. Fold in the chopped dark chocolate.
6. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and pour the batter into it, smoothing the top.
7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a combination of milk and dark chocolate. Serve the bread sliced, with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of melted chocolate.
