Description

This easy Ground Beef Orzo recipe is a delicious and satisfying one-pot meal that comes together in just 30 minutes. Made with savory ground beef, tender orzo pasta, and a flavorful tomato-based sauce, this comforting dish is perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes

– 2 cups uncooked orzo pasta

– 2 cups beef broth

– 1 tsp dried oregano

– 1 tsp dried basil

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

1. – In a large skillet or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

2. – Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

3. – Stir in the diced tomatoes, uncooked orzo, beef broth, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. – Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender, about 12-15 minutes.

5. – Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

– For extra flavor, you can add a splash of red wine or Worcestershire sauce to the skillet.

– Customize the dish by adding your favorite vegetables, such as diced bell peppers or mushrooms.

– Leftover ground beef orzo can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
