Description

Indulge in the rich and comforting flavors of Hamburger Potato Soup. This hearty dish is loaded with tender chunks of potato, savory ground beef, and a creamy broth that will warm you from the inside out.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 4 cups diced potatoes

– 4 cups beef broth

– 2 cups milk

– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon dried thyme

– 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. – In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled.

2. – Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook for 2-3 minutes, until fragrant.

3. – Sprinkle the flour over the beef and onion mixture and stir to coat.

4. – Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.

5. – Add the diced potatoes, dried thyme, and dried oregano. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

6. – Stir in the milk and continue simmering for an additional 5 minutes, or until the soup has thickened to your desired consistency.

7. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.

8. – Serve the Hamburger Potato Soup hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

For a creamier soup, you can use half-and-half or heavy cream instead of milk. You can also add diced carrots or celery for extra flavor and texture.
