Ingredients

– 8 Hawaiian rolls, sliced in half horizontally

– 8 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, American, Swiss, etc.)

– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

1. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.

2. Spread the softened butter evenly on the cut sides of the Hawaiian rolls.

3. Place the bottom half of the rolls, buttered-side down, in the preheated skillet or on the griddle.

4. Top each roll bottom with a slice of cheese.

5. Place the top half of the rolls on the cheese.

6. Cook the sandwiches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

7. Remove the sandwiches from the heat and serve immediately, while hot and gooey.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can try adding a thin slice of ham or turkey to the grilled cheese. You can also experiment with different types of cheese to find your favorite combination.
