Description
Bite-sized, heart-shaped pepperoni pizza pockets are the perfect fun and tasty treat for any occasion. With a flaky crust, melted cheese, and savory pepperoni, these pockets are sure to be a hit with the whole family.
Ingredients
– 1 lb pizza dough
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1 cup pepperoni, diced
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough out to 1/4-inch thickness.
3. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes from the dough.
4. Place the heart-shaped dough pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. In a small bowl, mix together the mozzarella cheese, diced pepperoni, olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, and salt.
6. Spoon the pepperoni-cheese mixture onto the center of each heart-shaped dough piece, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
7. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pockets are golden brown.
9. Serve hot, with a side of warm marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For a crispier crust, brush the pockets with a little melted butter or olive oil before baking. You can also experiment with different fillings, such as spinach and feta or sausage and peppers.
