Description

Homemade chai concentrate is a game-changer for easy, delicious chai lattes anytime. This quick and simple recipe yields a rich, spiced concentrate that can be mixed with milk or plant-based milk for a comforting, cozy treat.

Ingredients

– 6 black tea bags

– 4 cinnamon sticks

– 10 cardamom pods, crushed

– 6 whole cloves

– 2 star anise

– 1/4 cup honey

– 4 cups water

Instructions

1. – In a medium saucepan, combine the tea bags, cinnamon sticks, crushed cardamom pods, cloves, and star anise.

2. – Add the water and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

3. – Reduce the heat to low and let the chai simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. – Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the honey until dissolved.

5. – Strain the concentrate through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the tea bags and whole spices.

6. – Transfer the concentrated chai to a clean jar or bottle and refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

– Store the homemade chai concentrate in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

– For a chai latte, mix 2-3 tablespoons of the concentrate with 1 cup of hot milk or plant-based milk.

– Adjust the amount of honey to suit your desired sweetness level.

– Try adding a touch of vanilla extract or ground ginger for extra flavor.
