Indulge in the irresistible combination of maple, bacon, and cinnamon in these quick and easy Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls – a life-changing breakfast treat!
Ingredients
– 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
– 1/4 cup warm water
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 egg
– 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
– 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
– 1/2 cup maple syrup
Instructions
1. – In a small bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
2. – In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it just begins to steam. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Allow to cool to lukewarm.
3. – In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture, lukewarm milk mixture, and egg. Stir to combine.
4. – Gradually add the flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. – Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
6. – Punch down the dough to release air bubbles. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle, about 12×18 inches.
7. – Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough. Top with the crumbled bacon.
8. – Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
9. – Place the rolls in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
10. – Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
11. – Drizzle the warm rolls with the maple syrup and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra decadence, top the rolls with a maple cream cheese frosting. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
