Description

Indulge in the irresistible combination of maple, caramel, and toasted pecans in this Maple Caramel Pecan Sticky Babka. Baked to perfection with a soft, pillowy interior and a crunchy, caramelized exterior, this quick and easy treat is sure to satisfy your sweet cravings.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

– 1/4 cup warm water

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup maple syrup

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and yeast. Add the warm water and milk, and stir until a dough forms.

2. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

4. In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, butter, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is melted and combined.

5. Roll the dough into a large rectangle, about 12×18 inches. Spread the caramel mixture evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the chopped pecans on top.

6. Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.

7. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

8. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

9. Remove from the oven and drizzle with the maple syrup. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a more indulgent treat, you can also drizzle the babka with additional caramel sauce or sprinkle with more chopped pecans.
