Description

Discover the perfect Moroccan Spiced Chicken Briouats – a delectable fusion of tender chicken, aromatic spices, and flaky phyllo pastry. These bite-sized appetizers are bursting with flavor and ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

– 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced

– 1 tablespoon olive oil

– 2 teaspoons Moroccan spice blend (cumin, coriander, cinnamon, paprika)

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

– 12 sheets phyllo dough, thawed

– 3 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken, Moroccan spice blend, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink.

3. Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean work surface. Brush with melted butter. Top with another sheet of phyllo and brush with more butter.

4. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the spiced chicken mixture in the center of the phyllo sheets. Fold the phyllo over the filling, creating a triangle shape, and continue folding to create a triangular pastry.

5. Place the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Briouats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

6. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.

7. Serve the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Briouats warm, with your favorite dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

For a crispy exterior, be sure to brush the phyllo dough generously with melted butter before assembling the briouats. You can also try substituting the chicken with ground lamb or beef for a different flavor profile.
