Description

Indulge in the hearty, comforting flavors of Mrs. Weasley’s legendary Meat Pie. This classic dish features a flaky, golden-brown crust and a savory, satisfying filling made with ground beef, vegetables, and aromatic spices. Perfect for a cozy family dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

– 2 pounds ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 2 carrots, peeled and diced

– 2 celery stalks, diced

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

– 1 cup beef broth

– 1 teaspoon dried thyme

– 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 2 pre-made pie crusts

Instructions

1. – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. – In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes.

3. – Add the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.

4. – Sprinkle the flour over the beef and vegetable mixture, and stir to coat evenly. Cook for 2 minutes, then gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.

5. – Stir in the thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the filling has thickened.

6. – Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the beef filling into the crust.

7. – Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the filling. Crimp the edges to seal, and cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

8. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

9. – Let the pie cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a combination of ground beef and ground pork. You can also add diced potatoes or peas to the filling. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
