Mummy Brownies are a delightfully spooky and delicious Halloween treat! These fudgy, chocolatey brownies are topped with a creamy white frosting and decorated to look like adorable mummies.
Ingredients
– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
– 2 cups granulated sugar
– 4 large eggs
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
– 2 cups powdered sugar
– 3 tablespoons milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Black decorating gel or melted chocolate, for eyes
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
6. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Allow the brownies to cool completely.
9. In a medium bowl, beat the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
10. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies, creating mummy-like wrappings with the frosting.
11. Use the black decorating gel or melted chocolate to add eyes to the mummy brownies.
12. Chill the brownies in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a more spooky effect, you can add a small amount of cinnamon or nutmeg to the frosting. You can also use other Halloween-themed decorations, like sprinkles or candy eyeballs, to further customize the mummy brownies.
