Ingredients

– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

– 1 egg

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract


Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3. – In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the egg and vanilla.

4. – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

5. – Scoop dough by the tablespoonful and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.

6. – Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a chunkier cookie, use a medium cookie scoop instead of a tablespoon. You can also add mix-ins like chocolate chips, sprinkles, or nuts. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
