Ingredients
– 1 cup (240g) creamy peanut butter
– 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
– 1 large egg
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. – Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. – In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, egg, baking soda, and salt. Mix until well blended and a smooth dough forms.
3. – Scoop rounded tablespoons of the dough and place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
4. – Using a fork, gently press down on each cookie to create the classic criss-cross pattern.
5. – Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden around the edges.
6. – Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For chunkier peanut butter cookies, use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy. You can also add a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the cookies for a sweet and salty contrast.
