Description

Elevate your next party or movie night with these delightful Pizza Roses made from flaky puff pastry. Filled with savory tomato sauce and melted cheese, these bite-sized appetizers are sure to impress.

Ingredients

– 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

– 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce

– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

– 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Unfold the puff pastry sheet and cut into 6 equal strips, each about 1-inch wide.

3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce down the center of each pastry strip, leaving a 1/2-inch border on the long sides.

4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

5. Starting from one short end, tightly roll up each pastry strip into a spiral, forming a rose shape.

6. Place the rolled roses, seam-side down, on the prepared baking sheet.

7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.

8. Remove from oven and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

9. Serve warm, with additional marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

– For a more savory option, try adding cooked Italian sausage or pepperoni to the filling. – These can be made in advance and refrigerated until ready to bake.
