Description

Shrimp Scampi is a classic Italian-American seafood dish that features tender shrimp cooked in a rich, garlicky butter sauce. This quick and easy recipe is ready in just 30 minutes, making it the perfect choice for a delicious weeknight meal.

Ingredients

– 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1/4 cup dry white wine

– 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

– 8 ounces linguine pasta, cooked according to package instructions

– Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque.

4. Deglaze the pan with the white wine, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in the lemon juice and parsley.

5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add the red pepper flakes if desired.

6. Serve the shrimp scampi immediately over the cooked linguine.

Notes

For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream or half-and-half at the end. You can also adjust the amount of lemon juice to your personal taste preference.
