Description
Spicy Dragon Chicken is a bold and flavorful Asian-inspired dish that’s ready in just 30 minutes. Tender chicken thighs are coated in a sticky, umami-packed sauce with a touch of heat, making it the perfect quick and easy weeknight meal.
Ingredients
– 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
– 2 tablespoons brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon sambal oelek (or other chili garlic sauce)
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
– 2 scallions, thinly sliced, plus more for garnish
– 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, plus more for garnish
– Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sambal oelek, garlic, and ginger. Toss to coat the chicken evenly. Cover and marinate for 15 minutes.
2. Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened, about 8-10 minutes.
3. Remove from heat and stir in the sliced scallions and sesame seeds.
4. Serve the Spicy Dragon Chicken immediately over steamed white rice, garnished with additional scallions and sesame seeds.
Notes
For a milder version, start with 1/2 tablespoon of sambal oelek and adjust to your desired level of heat. The sauce can also be made ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 5 days.
