Ingredients
– 8 slices of bread
– 8 slices of cheddar or pepper jack cheese
– 4 jalapeño peppers, sliced
– 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
2. 2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
3. 3. Place 4 slices of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
4. 4. Top each slice with 2 slices of cheese and a few slices of jalapeño.
5. 5. Place the remaining 4 slices of bread, butter-side up, on top of the cheese and jalapeño.
6. 6. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
7. 7. Remove from heat and serve hot.
Notes
For a milder version, use fewer jalapeños. You can also add other toppings like bacon or caramelized onions to customize the grilled cheese.
