Prepare to be amazed by the bold, spicy flavors of this Spicy Kimchi Bulgogi Cheesesteak. A fusion of Korean and American cuisines, this delectable sandwich combines tender, marinated beef, fiery kimchi, and melted cheese for a truly unforgettable dining experience.
Ingredients
– 1 pound thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye or sirloin)
– 1 cup chopped spicy kimchi
– 4 ounces shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
– 4 soft hoagie or sub rolls, split lengthwise
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon brown sugar
– 2 teaspoons sesame oil
– 1 teaspoon grated ginger
– 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Toss to coat the beef evenly. Cover and marinate for 30 minutes.
2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
4. Place the split hoagie rolls on a baking sheet. Divide the cooked beef evenly among the rolls, then top with the chopped kimchi and shredded cheese.
5. Bake the cheesesteaks in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is lightly toasted.
6. Serve the Spicy Kimchi Bulgogi Cheesesteaks immediately, while hot and melty.
Notes
For an extra flavor boost, try adding a drizzle of Sriracha or Gochujang sauce on top of the cheesesteaks before baking. You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as provolone or cheddar, to suit your preferences.
