Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 3/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 2 tablespoons cornstarch
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, butter, 3/4 cup sugar, and salt. Use a fork or pastry blender to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Press half of the mixture into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
4. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with the 1/4 cup sugar and cornstarch until well coated.
5. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the crust.
6. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top of the strawberries.
7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
