Description

These creamy, buttery Thanksgiving Mashed Potatoes are the ultimate holiday side dish. Ready in just 5 minutes, they’re the perfect complement to your roasted turkey and all the trimmings.

Ingredients

– 3 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks

– 1 cup warm milk

– 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. – Place the potato chunks in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat.

2. – Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until potatoes are very tender when pierced with a fork.

3. – Drain the potatoes and return to the pot. Mash with a potato masher or ricer until smooth.

4. – Add the warm milk and softened butter. Mash or stir until fully incorporated and potatoes are creamy.

5. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. – Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy hot.

Notes

– For extra richness, use half-and-half or heavy cream instead of milk.

– Stir in shredded cheddar cheese, chives, or roasted garlic for flavor variations.

– Leftovers can be reheated gently on the stovetop with a splash of milk to keep them creamy.
