Description

Indulge in the buttery, vanilla-infused goodness of these classic Vanilla Sugar Cookies. Perfectly soft and crumbly, with a light dusting of sugar, these cookies are a timeless treat that’s sure to delight.

Ingredients

– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

– 1 egg

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

1. – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. – In a large bowl or a stand mixer, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

4. – Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

5. – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

6. – Scoop the dough by the tablespoonful and roll into balls. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

7. – Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

8. – Enjoy the Vanilla Sugar Cookies with a dusting of powdered sugar or on their own.

Notes

Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For a chewier texture, bake the cookies for a minute or two less. Experiment with different mix-ins, such as chopped nuts or chocolate chips, for added flavor.
