Description

Indulge in the vibrant and refreshing flavors of Violet Lemonade, a delightful summer drink that’s easy to make and bursting with natural sweetness.

Ingredients

– 4 cups water

– 1/2 cup dried butterfly pea flowers

– 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-5 lemons)

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)

– Ice cubes

– Lemon slices and lavender sprigs for garnish

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the dried butterfly pea flowers. Let steep for 15-20 minutes, or until the water has turned a deep purple hue.

2. Strain the infused water through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the spent flowers.

3. In a pitcher, combine the strained butterfly pea flower water, fresh lemon juice, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.

4. Add ice cubes to the pitcher and stir to chill the lemonade.

5. Pour the Violet Lemonade into glasses and garnish with lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs, if desired.

6. Serve immediately and enjoy the vibrant, refreshing flavor!

Notes

– For a sweeter lemonade, add more sugar to taste.

– The butterfly pea flower infusion can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

– Experiment with different citrus fruits like lime or orange for a twist on the classic lemonade.
