Description

Succulent, sugar-coated candied strawberries are a delightful homemade treat perfect for snacking, gifting, or topping desserts.

Ingredients

– 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and hulled

– 1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar has dissolved and the strawberries are softened, about 10-15 minutes.

2. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the candied strawberries to a parchment-lined baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer.

3. Allow the strawberries to cool completely, about 30 minutes, until the sugar coating has hardened.

4. Once cooled, the candied strawberries are ready to enjoy! Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of ground cinnamon to the sugar mixture. These candied strawberries also make a wonderful homemade gift or topping for ice cream, cheesecake, or other desserts.
