Description

Indulge in the rich, creamy, and boldly flavored Spicy Mexican Chocolate Silk Pie – a decadent homemade dessert that’s quick and foolproof to prepare.

Ingredients

– 12 ounces dark chocolate, chopped

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 3 large eggs

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

– 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).

2. In a medium saucepan, melt the chopped dark chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

3. In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly pour in the melted chocolate, whisking constantly.

5. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until well combined.

6. Pour the chocolate silk filling into the pre-baked pie crust and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the center is just set. Allow to cool completely before chilling in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

8. Serve chilled, dusted with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality dark chocolate with a minimum of 70% cacao. The spicy kick from the chili powder complements the rich chocolate beautifully. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of toasted nuts, if desired.
